NY seeks to extend fracking moratorium until 2015

The New York State Assembly has approved a two-year moratorium on fracking, or hydraulic fracturing. If passed by the Senate, it will extend the state’s fracking ban until 2015.
Governor Andrew Cuomo has said he will wait for studies on the health effects of fracking before approving the practice.
